A water-based penetrating sealer for all natural stone, grout, concrete and any other porous mineral or man-made material. It protects your stone surfaces from water and oil born stains and provides an invisible barrier while allowing the surface to properly breathe.
Use On: All stone surfaces, interior and exterior, weather resistant. Will not alter the original color of most stones. To make sure, test on a spare tile or inconspicuous area. Let cure for 48 hours to see final appearance.
Equipment: Plastic to mask off surrounding areas, brush, roller, cloth, sponge or sprayer; absorbent towel or carpet bonnet.
Limitations: Surface temperature must be between 50 and 90 deg. F (10 and 32 deg. C).
Cure Time: May be opened for foot traffic in 2 hours. Achieves a full cure in 24 hrs.
Life/Wear: Up to 10 years depending on the type of surface, abrasion/foot traffic, weather and maintenance. Will not prevent etching from acid or caustic chemicals. May damage non-recommended surfaces; protect from contact. May darken some materials.
Application: Surface must be clean, dry and free of coatings or sealers. Clean/strip floor first with Stonecare Pro Deep Clean Stripper Degreaser. Test small area before application to insure desired results will be achieved. Protect all adjacent surfaces with film/plastic.
Large Floors: Use a floor machine with a white or red nylon pad. Start in an area 15 to 20 square feet. Apply sealer to middle of area, position nylon pad onto product, and with machine, spread over area. Keep rubbing it in until all product residue is removed. Repeat until whole floor has been treated. Discard the pad when it becomes too tacky. May require more than one application. On polished marble and hone-finished travertine one application will do. On granite, at least two applications are generally necessary. Very porous mercantile granites, sandstone, quartzite, etc. may require three or more applications.
Countertops: Apply on stone surface spreading uniformly with clean white rag. Let product sit for 4 minutes allowing maximum penetration. When stone surface is almost dry, apply more product, rub any remaining residue off. Repeat until whole surface has been treated. Highly porous surfaces may require a second or third application to give full protection and achieve desired look. Wait a minimum of 1 hour between applications.
